2017 METRO BARBELL CLASSIC
Weightlifting Competition – USAW Sanction #73220
Metro Tech Weightlifting Club & Metro Tech High School, in conjunction with the Arizona High School Weightlifting Association, is hosting the 1st Annual 2017 Metro Barbell Classic.
Come watch Top Youth lifters and High School Teams compete in the fall kick-off event leading up to the 2018 Arizona High School Weightlifting State Championship! Meet will include sessions for Open & Master Men & Women.
This meet will also serve as a Last Chance qualifier for the 2017 USAW American Open Championship (Dec 7-10 in Anaheim, CA).

Competition will be held in the Gymnasium in the NE Side of Campus. Please park in the east parking lot with the entrance off of 19th Ave.

High School Teams/Athletes – $15 per Athlete (School Team registered with AZHSWA)
Youth 13&U and New Athletes (First Competition) – $15 per Athlete
Youth & Junior Open Athletes (Not affiliated with a School) – $30
Senior (Age 21-34) & Master (Age 35+) Athletes – $40
Spectator Admission – $5 for Adults, $2 for Students, FREE for Children 10 & Under. $10 Family Maximum.
NOTE: USAW Membership Required for Competing Athletes

SCHEDULE:
2017 Metro Barbell Classic – Final Schedule & Start List
Session 1: WOMEN (Youth) – 8am Weigh-in, 10am Start
Session 2: WOMEN (Youth, Juniors, Open) – 10am Weigh-in, 12:00pm Start
Session 3: MEN (All) – 12:30pm Weigh-in, 2:30pm Start
UNIFORMS:
Singlets Recommended, but not required. Any two-piece (top & bottoms) competition attire should be tight fitting and may NOT cover the elbows.
WEIGH-INS:
Weigh-ins will be conducted per USAW Rules, and will start 2 hours prior to the Final Schedule session start time, and will last 1 hour. Athletes will compete in the Weight Class determined at weigh-in.
